Are you perhaps having a bad day or feeling down in the dumps?

If so, please read this story and think how fortunate you and members of your family likely are today.

WARNING: Disturbing and upsetting photos of 5 year old girl.

Her story and courage fills my eyes with tears (truly) as I type.

I feel sure it will do so with you, too.

If you haven't seen Safyre's story and read about her Christmas Wish, please click on link below.

Mandatory to ensure you have a big tissue in your hand!

I wanted to share this little girl's courage with the kind hearted folks on GR.

I am sure her simple wish will move you as it has moved me and many others.

Thank you.

Barry

It was a terrible tragedy, she lost her father and siblings, all such beautiful children as she was. No mention of a Mum, I think. Thank heavens she has an aunt to care for her but she has so much to go through for the rest of her life.

Have written a card to her, will post later today.

Thank you for your input, Maggie and Liz.
I sent two cards, one for Safyre, and one for the aunt and her children.
I haven't been able to stop thinking of Safyre and what life will be like for her.
Most upset in life pales by comparison!

Was the story of seven year old Evan Liversage noted in the news and newspapers?
He battled brain cancer since he was two and his parents were told he would likely not live to see this Christmas.
The town of St. George, Ontario, became fully decorated for Christmas late in October especially for Evan.
Everyone came out to make it a special last Christmas for him.
He was pulled around town on a sleigh, happily smiling and waving to everyone.

Evan died the other day.
He saw and celebrated Christmas, thankfully.
He was laid to rest today.

Another great sadness and loss of a very young life.

I havd been watching some programmes Kid's Hospital at Christmas, it's awful what some little ones have to go through and their parents too. The doctors and nurses etc are wonderful and do so much to make time spent on the wards as happy as they can for those not well enough to go home. It's awful to see little ones and their families go through such terrible things.
Rest in peace, little Evan.

I couldn't cope what these doctors and nurses face continually, Liz.
As you say, they are indeed wonderful.

I remember as a youngster every Christmas Day was always a special event on BBC TV.
Max Bygraves going around the wards of Great Ormond Street Hospital to cheer the children who were patients.
They were in bed and we luckier ones were at home with our new toys!

Have a lovely weekend, Liz.

Dear me, Liz, you and OH certainly have a lot to deal with recently.
Family stress levels are indeed being truly tested!
I do hope all comes out well very soon.
Take care xx
