I can't wear flipflops, because there's not much space between my big toe & the 2nd toe. The only pair that fit properly was a pair of leather "sandals" made in India..... I had them for less than a week before the dog chewed them! Arrrrrrrgh. I never found another pair like them.

The best thing for fixing a pair of flipflops (as what happened to yours, Liz) is a bread bag clip (if UK clips are the same as Oz clips lol).

You're lucky you weren't injured! A few years ago a woman who worked in the supermarket stepped backwards & stood on the front of my sandal, just as I took a step....... there was a horrible noise........ I had torn my calf muscle! That was horrible, took months to get better (the supermarket paid all the bills).

When I first met my son's father (in Malta) he took me to the beach and managed to step on the heel of my rubber flip-flop, breaking the part that goes through the sole. I nearly went a over t but he was obviously used to these mishaps as he quickly did a repair with a piece of twig and some string lol
