And Allan's other thread - about Christmas in the Workhouse?
There are many versions of the 1800's original (by George Sims). If I could remember all of the verses of the one that I grew up with it would certainly be pounced on by some phantom RRer.

First lines only....

'Twas Christmas day in the workhouse
Twixt the cold and dusty walls.
"Good morning" shouted the warden.
A pauper answered "*****"
(Hint: rhymes with walls)

now that w are away from the festivities, and noting that we have one or two "ex messengers," on the thread,
I came across this CNN web server site. various speeds etc,........
it appears to be a twitter feed passed through some software to encode into morse but good practise....I am terribly rusty at it, but trying to take it down, occupied a few minutes.....(or more)
probably the only way to hear morse, these days.........
so if you feel inclined, have a go............
