DH doesn't mumble...... he has two volumes, loud & LOUDER


But I can't hear him when I'm in the next room

Aha!
You too LadyScozz.
I'm not deaf but OH has a very deep quiet voice.
Sometimes its a strain to hear a single word.

I can't hear him at all if he talks in the car. His voice is exactly the same level as the engine!

And ... yes, even after 30yrs, he also walks out of the room whilst still talking to me and my response is IDENTICAL to yours!

His secretary calls him "Mumble" and it's her that I feel sorry for.
He uses a dictation machine to record all his his reports/letters and it takes the poor girl ages to decipher what he's saying

In our house.........

I'm half deaf

DH has a horrible habit of walking out of the room we're in........ then talking to me!

All I hear is a mumble

For 30 years I've been yelling out... "I CAN'T HEAR YOU WHEN YOU WALK AWAY!"

Should I buy a whistle?

like I'm not the one having to listen to the FWEEEEEEE FWEEEEEE of the whistle for I can't count the hours in a day that there seems to be football going on in that other room ...

... and how many times I call sweetly from the other room
