New Year Blessings


Hush, there is a whisper
above the virgin snow
and all beneath ring tiny bells
from snowdrops soon to show.

A miracle is happening,
as the old year fades away.
Celestial lights are dawning
a new princess finds her way.

In satin ballerina shoes
she dances on tip-toe,
and in her wake snowflakes fall
in pirouettes and do-si-do.

Against a sky of opal
mountains reflect the dawn,
in the mystique of her whisper
they see the new year born.

Now the air is glistening
all around is fresh and new
as she swirls her skirts in virgin snow
I wish many blessings my friends for you.
