It's now just over four months since the surgery on my leg.

I can get around at home without a stick, but I get tired after a couple of hours walking.
I take the walking stick when we go out, more of a "security blanket" than for assistance.... it hope that when people see someone with a stick, they might be careful (but that's not always what happens, as I've found out!).

Saw the physio this morning, and he's very happy with my progress. I see the specialist at the end of January.

I was told that full recovery would be 4-6 months..... that might be fine if was in my 30s, I think 6 months is more realistic.

Still not allowed to walk on the beach! Hard sand is good, but I'd have quite a walk over soft sand to get to the firmer sand. I'm progressing well, and don't want to take any risks.

Post-op recovery can be slow.
It took about five months to recover from my prostate op in 2010.
Ten days ago I had a lymph node removed from my groin but it is very swollen so I went back to the hospital this morning. The doctor couldn't find any infection but mentioned that in some cases it could take months for the scarring and so on deep down to re-absorb.
Great: the lump I've got now is three times the size of the one that was supposedly removed !!

lol Robert

I have plans to go to the "farmers' shop" this week..... I want an attachment to put on the end of my walking stick.

A cattle prod!

Some people need a good jab :-0

Just back from follow-up with the surgeon and the histology result was benign.
The swelling is the lymph fluid which will take weeks to re-absorb.
