I have three different surnames of the same family Flett-Fleck -Affleck which have changed over the generations which I want to add to my tree. However, a message appears stopping me from doing this. Is there a way around this? I am stuck! : :-(

I have a family and in three different censuses
they have a different surnames names
But the people still live at the same address with the same first names
They are called Stockdale Engledew and Ingledew
But the grandfather is called Stockton
which should be their name too ;-) ;-)

Once youve added them as a 'child of' original surname, can't you change it on the side bar thingy?

Added - yes you can. My paternal line's spelling deviated a hundred years ago. It was easy enough to change the spelling to a more recent one once it's been entered and saved.
Any further children added would bear the 'new' version. In your instance you'd have to manually change the names of all who have the incorrect spelling. Just remember to 'save' after each edit.
