On line death indexes go up to 2006. Is that what you've found? Even if you bought the certificate, it wouldn't give the names of his parents although it would name his wife/widow.

If he was still living in 2002 or after, you should be able to find his last known address on

Cross reference the name and post-code on 192.com (as posted by Maggie) to see how current it is.

The electoral roll is a good place. 192.com stores this information.

Is this an entry from the Birth, marriage or death index? If so, to view the full details, you'd need to order the certificate from the gro at a cost of £9.25.

Before you do that, if the person is deceased, we might be able to find you other information from parish records to alleviate the need.
