My son had his first major tantrum in M&S aged two.

I was well used to them as his brother had been the King of tantrums so I placed myself away from him but so I could still see him.

An assistant passed, gave me a wink and bent down to him and said with a smile "What are you doing down there young man?".

He was so shocked he stood up and ran to me :-D

As she passed again she said "Been there, done that" . A true card carrying mother!

One good turn deserves another so I have done the same for other harassed mothers over the years since and it does seem to have some success :-D

My younger grandson 'threw a wobbly' at my house once - he was about 3.
I suggested he stopped, as granny had more experience in having a major strop than him, and granny's strops were well known within the family.....

He didn't stop.

I copied him.

He hasn't had a strop at my house since :-D

His elder brother (about 5 at the time) has since recovered from the trauma of seeing granny behaving like a 3 year old :-D

I was nearly 15 when my youngest brother was born.

Mum was so busy I had to take over lots of the looking after....... and he never had tantrums.

The only time I remember a tanrum in our house was when I was in my late 20s....... and dad couldn't get his way about something...........

have you ever seen a grown man (about 60 years old), on the floor, banging his arms & legs & screaming with rage?

Ummmmmm
A 3 year old isn't a toddler.
That child would last to number 3 with me. Then I wouldn't be responsible for my actions!!! :-|

:-D

I learned, before I was two years old, not to have a tantrum, cry for no reason or moan about ANYTHING, especially if my father was in the house.

In our house, children were seen as little as possible and definitely not heard. :-0

If you dispute the "two years old"...... I remember my 2nd birthday! Mainly because it was the only time I had a cake with a candle on it until my 21st.
