Went out on a 1st date last night and it went well. We went bowling and then for a couple of drinks before he saw me safely into a taxi and we went our separate ways.

However it did get me thinking about some of the bad dates I've had. I was 24 and the man was 29 and we met in a coffee shop at 11am on a Tuesday morning in the middle of town. We had been in there about 20 minutes when he got up walked over and bought himself a sandwich then sat down and proceeded to eat it without a word to me. He lived a 20 minute train journey away and admitted that his dad had come through with him just so he would have someone with him and his mum phoned him while we out. According to him he had to get the 1pm train back home though he said he had no plans for the afternoon. I guess dad was bored wandering round the shops.

One 37 year old man I started talking to but never went out with started one of our conversations by asking me what I thought about tattoos before admitting that he had seven and that they were all of Hello Kitty. Oh dear seven tattoos of a little white cat with a pink bow. One I could have put down to a drunken mistake but seven was a little worrying.

Anyone else willing to admit to a bad date?

one I will never forget, from many years ago

Met a "reasonable" man... he 'phoned a few days later, asked me out to dinner.

Picked me up, and dinner was at his house............. errr, okaaaaaay.

Table set nicely........ until I noticed the ummm, candle in the middle of the table. ummmmmmmm, pen!s shaped........ and he grinned at me while he lit it!

Then there was the cat. A huge overweight hairy thing. I'm allergic to cats.

Bad asthma attack.........combination of the candle & the heavy breathing gave him ideas.......... which were kicked to the kerb really fast!

Never heard from him again, thank gawd.

Years ago, (aged about 30) I answered an ad.
Phoned the guy,(let's call him Tim) then he and I realised he knew my brother in law - they went to the same school.
I agreed to meet him at a local market. I hid - as did he!!!!

I found this out when me, my sister and brother in law went into a pub.
There was an old school mate of my Brother in law sat on his own.
We joined him and started chatting - then the penny dropped!!
He was very embarrassed, and got a right 'ribbing' from my brother in law.
I found it hilarious :-D :-D

why on earth was that reported?

well here we go again -

I was persuaded by a friend of mine to answer an ad in a "looking for" column in our local newspaper - never done anything like that in my life before - and won't again by the way. he sounded nice on the phone and he was a nice guy in some ways but I went to the meeting place filled with trepidation - as he staggered towards me my first thought was "this guy could do with a blood transfusion" - we had a carvery meal and the meat he couldn't eat he wrapped in a serviette and took home to make sandwiches - not my type one little bit

now what has caused someone to report that - unless it was him, but I doubt it

At the risk of a GR holiday. I am trying online dating and the most shall we say interesting job any of the men I've been out with had was a photographer of life models. Which he explained in nauseating detail :-(

The nearest I got to a blind date was when, at the age of about 16/17, I was asked to go to the pics with my friend to make up a foursome - she did not want to go alone. I knew my dat a little and was not keen but, being a good friend, I went along. What a boring evening - he had an old man's head on young shoulders at the age of about 18; no fun at all.

We came out of the pics and I had to get the bus home. I didn't even let him walk me to the bus stop, so bl***y boring was he.

But the evening was not lost.

On my way to the bus stop I bumped into my ex-boyfriend who had just had the same experience as I had albeit at the pics along road. We got together and enjoyed the rest of the night - and had another couple of months of enjoyment.

At that age, three months or so with one boyfriend was enough for me.

Twenty years later I bumped into the borer's cousin where we lived thousands of miles away. I realised that I'd had a lucky escape because the cousin was just as boring and mouthy with it. :-S
