I think your husband would have been better getting you a subscription to Findmypast rather than GenesReunited.

As Sylvia says, I wonder how long it will be before Genes follows FriendsReunited and is closed down for good.

I don't do Facebook, so if Genes closes then I will also cancel my Findmypast subscription as I don't do any research for myself any more.

Just the end of a pleasant little hobby.

Oh, and by the way.......I seriously doubt that they have the number of members that they talk about.....certainly not paying members anyway. If they did have I'm sure they would do more with the site.

A miracle has occurred! I posted a complaint on the Genes Reunited Facebook page, and suddenly my Platinum account was sorted out! Coincidence - maybe, or maybe not! Now all I need is a refund for the wasted month.....

Not surprising to see that Customer Service does not have a proper link!

The staff seem to have been reduced to the minimum .......... most of the staff have been transferred over to FMP.


The site is not being maintained

Several of us were told last year that it is now up to the members


and I wonder how long it will be before this site follows FR, and is folded?

Incidentally, if you look in the help column, Customer Service is the only contact which does not have a proper link so does not provide access!

I've tried emailing customer support, I've tried phoning - but get an acknowledgement but no answer. The subscription was taken out in my name - I know this because I have had an email offering my additional items to add to it.

Thank you for the accounts email - I'll try that one!

Did your husband inadvertently take out the subscription in his own name, so that is why they think it is his acount?

Besides the support email address you could also try [email protected]

Try clicking on help (top of page next to your name) then contact us on the left of the displayed page.

My husband bought me a Platinum subscription for Christmas. Despite numerous emails and attempts to telephone customer support, I cannot access my account because the system simply switches me to either my husband's account or to an offer to take up a free account. I have a lost nearly a month's subscription so far.

Can anybody advise me please how I can get hold of someone at Genes Reunited to put this right?
