Wasn't it the Scottish police who took three days to find a car which had skidded off the road without the distraction of snow. During the recent Scottish floods a bus full of passengers was swept away and rescued with some difficulty though not by the AA. Is it not the Forth Road Bridge which is falling down after 50 years usage while I K Brunel's bridge at Clifton is just fine.

No wonder the AA suggest you err on the side of caution in Scotland..

The AA have warned that anyone travelling in these icy conditions should take a shovel, blankets/sleeping bag, extra clothing (including scarf, hat and gloves), 24 hour supply of food and drink, de-icer, rock salt, torch, spare battery, petrol can, first aid kit and jump leads.

She said she feels like an idiot on the bus.
