Have you ever gone a bit 'wild' with yours?

I was on the bus today and a young lady got off several stops before mine, as she passed me I noticed her very long and luxuriant hair in a perfectly beautiful shade of pale blue, it really was stunning :-) My son asked last week if I was going to dye my greying hair before going to my nieces wedding " so you don't look like a grandma" (!) and I am now rather tempted to turn my white streaks into something a bit 'different' lol and choose the colour of my dress to match ;-)

Have you ever gone blue/pink/ purple?
:-D

Only once, and that was accidental.

I had growing out highlights in light brown hair, when we were invited to a 'themed' family party. I used a blue temporary dye. Unfortunately it wouldn't wash out of the highlighted sections. :-0

:-D +++DetEcTive+++ Some of those temporary dyes last a lot longer than you expect!

Apparently ice blue is the trend this winter :-)

When I was about 18......I dyed my hair jet black.

Now, to make sure I didn't miss any hairs, I piled the stuff on lower than my hair line.

When I washed the stuff off and looked in the mirror, my facial hairs, that I didn't even know I had, were dyed too!!

It looked as if i had a jet black beard growing out my forehead!!

:-0 :-D :-0

are you aware you can get coloured hair mousse? my hair which was blonde is no longer blonde but silvery, so to warm it up I use coloured mousse - I mix a dark blonde mousse with ordinary mousse and it's great - of course it does wash out

Hi have dull light to mid brown hair with some red strands in it. When I was younger I dyed it black, blonde and red at various intervals to liven it up. It is now back to my natural colour and as of yet I have no greys but will start dying it again though this time a more natural colour when they start coming through.

At the moment my hair is more or less completely grey but that is because this time of year I let the colour grow out. I don't like to keep piling colour on colour. But it will very soon not be grey. I shall get it coloured again in a month or so.

My granny had blue hair........ so blue that my aunt told her she looked like a budgie :-D

I've had some weird & wonderful hair over the years......... I once had red spikey bits at the front & blonde rat tails at the back. No, I wasn't a punk! I've had pink streaks & purple streaks.

These days I can't be bothered fighting with my curly hair, I just let it go mad........ but I have blonde streaks (foils).

DH says I look like an old hippie.

:-D

Not sure about the blue just yet...... I don't want to look like budgienana

Because I was losing so much hair, I stopped dyeing mine a few years ago. It's now long, below shoulder length and practically all grey. I have received many more complimeny0pts in that time. I have noticed many young girls are colouring their hair grey lately, seems it's an 'in' colour.

I have a friend who constantly colours her dark spiky hair pink, purple, blue or green or a combination of those colours, she looks great. She is a senior support worker for people with special needs. I bet she brightens their day.

I used to use an ash blonde permanent dye when my hair was shorter, it would fade out to a nice blonde shade before I did it again. For someone who had grown up with dark brown/chestnut coloured hair, being blonde was something new for me lol

Liz ~ I thought you would have purple hair, with sparkly diamonds in it.

I once had green hair, by default. When I was about 20, I had bleached blonde hair. Thinking that an ash blonde semi permanent might enhance it, I gave it a try.
Disaster - it went green!
It wouldn't wash out, so I had to cover it with a reddish brown colour - and became an
aubergine! :-0 :-D ;-)

Youngest daughter has reddish brown hair
As a teenager, she had it dyed jet black with the last 4 inches bright red

She loved it but it wasn't easy.
The ends of the hair had to be bleached of all natural colour ( white) before adding the red dye or it wouldn't work to the same effect.

Bleaching red brown hair to pure white doesn't really work. it was yellowish
