Damaged Femoral Nerve

Has anybody ever damaged their femoral nerve?

I went on a huge fall on some slippery board in the garden some weeks ago, I didn't even know about it until I hit the ground, legs all over the place.

Some days later my knee buckled (it happens sometimes with it being a knee-replacement), but although I was out with sticks in the field, I jarred my back as I saved myself from going down to the ground.

I didn't realise that I had injured the nerve until I developed hypersensitive skin across the front of my thigh and pain in the groin.

Yes, mine was damaged during the first botched hip replacement. I remain in pain even after the revision too.

Please tell your physio.

Anywhere around the femur is very sensitive

TRIVIA Viv Graham was shot in the thigh New year Eve 1993 (someone may have been aiming higher) He bled to death from the femoral artery.

Thank you, both :-)

The doctor said to wait to see if the sensitive area increased, to leave it for a month to see what happens.

I shall be back again before then if there is no improvement.

Sorry to read that you are still suffering, super crutch.

Awful to have to go through a revision and still be in pain at the end x

I was just reading that it can be caused by surgery.

Following my heart by-pass nearly three years ago, a nerve was damaged causing numbness in my left forearm and hand, especially the little finger, with loss of a lot of strength. It took several months to get better, but is now completely recovered. (As am I, thanks for asking)

Sorry that you suffered with it too, Bob. So pleased that you have completely recovered.

It gives such a weird sensation, doesn't it?

I couldn't even turn the tap on for a couple of months.
