It sounds a bit like these companies that sell peerages. You get a piece of paper which is supposed to be the title deed to a chunk of land somewhere. |

All the bright stars have names, usually of Arabic origin. There are only about 6,000 stars visible to the naked eye and most of those on the border of visibility. |
