For those who may be interested. :-\

I had an appointment with the specialist this morning, 4 1/2 months after the op.

He's more than pleased with my progress. Yay!

He wrote a letter for the physiotherapist. Hmmmm Doc is concerned about my sleeping position. I know the best position to sleep in until I'm fully healed, but my body doesn't always want to co-operate. I have always slept on my left side, left leg straight & right knee bent.... which isn't good if you've had surgery on your right hip area. I go to sleep in the "best for my leg" position, then wake up in the wrong position. I've tried going to sleep with a pillow or a cushion between my knees (as the doc recommended), but I wake up with the pillow on the floor. Doc wants the physio to work with me to get a better sleeping position......... how is he going to do that? :-S

I see the physio this afternoon............. this will be interesting .. NOT! :-D

Maybe the physiotherapist is going to have to sleep with you to solve the problem. Male or female physiotherapist?

post Physio :-(

I gave him the doc's letter, and we discussed it........ but somehow or other, any ideas for dealing with my sleeping position got lost..........

Margaret ~ I don't think the young male physio would even suggest it as a joke.... my DH would weigh at least 30kg more than him......... not sure who (the physio) would be more scared of, me (the cougar) or my large DH.

I had one big workout today........ then 10 minutes on a pilates machine, followed by 6 minutes on an exercise bike. That doesn't sound like much, but I haven't been able to do anything at all for so long (years!), that I felt like I had ran a half marathon!

Than I had to go to the supermarket........ which was another workout!

What's for dinner darling?

:-D

Well done on the progress anyway.

arrrrrrgh. I'm all baggy-eyes today.

I didn't sleep well, probably because I kept thinking about NOT getting into the wrong position..... I must have woken up every 20 minutes!

And....... after that serious workout yesterday afternoon, I am aching! The physio bent me into a pretzel.

It's going to be a long road, getting fit again.

Doc also said I shouldn't go back to pilates for at least three months! waaaaah!

Hello LadyScozz

I do hope you can sleep better tonight and start to feel better . It is hard to sleep and stay in one position. Take care

Sylvia........ I usually stay in the same position all night!

I'm not a restless sleeper, there isn't a wrinkle on the sheet or pillows when I get up.

My DH is another story....... pillows out of the cases, sheets tangled up... he can even pull a fitted sheet off the mattress!

He has been banned to the spare bedroom until my leg recovers :-D
