We had thought of going to Tiptree today to partake of a very late birthday afternoon tea experience. Well, Imogen thought otherwise!

So, we have been looking into replacing the food processor that died of old age and overwork and we decided upon a combination implement from Kenwood in Havant. It is both a food processor and a mixer but it it is supposed to take up far less kitchen space than a Chef. It follows, doesn't it , that the box will not be huge?

Off we set, but a roundabout sort of route caused by fallen trees and blown over lorries, to Havant in the Smart to purchase said small appliance.

There was just not one angle that would fit that box in the car so we had to take the Smart home, via the circuitous routes, and take the other car back to Havant, taking the same routes each way.

I have not yet taken it from the box because I need help to do that, but now I have no excuse at all for not cooking tea.

We did save £60 by going to the factory, even if it did cost us ninety in fuel to finally get it home!

:-D :-D :-D :-D

My sister reckons she can catch a train to IKEA in Southampton, and carry the one purchase she INTENDS to buy, back!!!
Previous excursions to the place for 'a couple of things', usually end up with 2 trolleys, not just the 'one we can share', and the back seats of her estate car flattened! :-S

Lol, just called into tesco for a paper and spent just under £10.

Sharron, I bet when you finally get it out of the box you will find that you could have got it in a box half the size. I thought you were going to say that you took it out of the box at the factory!! :-D

I did intend to buy that mixer but assumed that a small appliance would have a small box.

It does have several attachments that I have just washed and they will take up a good deal of room.

I think there is also a way to make more space in the back of the Smart but I have never bothered to find it as I can get two sacks of spuds into the available space and didn't think I would ever need to transport anything bigger.
