Old armpits

:-(

Went to the doc this afternoon, mainly for repeat prescriptions, and showed him a rash that's on my upper arm & armpit.... it's not itchy, but it's really HOT, and looks awful. I thought it was a heat rash (funny that it's only on one arm).

Nope, not a heat rash. It's an infected hair follicle :-( Pardon? But I don't have armpit hair any more...... something that happens when we get older.......... the doc said that the hair might stop growing, but the follicle is still ALIVE and sometimes they grow backwards!

Ewwwwwwwwww.

Antiobiotics & stinky cream.

Dopey me went to the chemist....... I had so many prescriptions to get sorted (7 ! ) that I forgot about the antibiotic, so I'll have to go back in the morning.

Keep an eye on your armpits.......... or anywhere you might be concerned about :-S

LadyScozz - thank you for that informative piece of information especially as I read your thread while enjoying a soft-boiled egg & soldiers.

On the bus yesterday, with all its windows shut tight, I'm sure there were a few passengers on board who participate in waterless baths every evening at home.

Water rates in the South West are relatively high - that's probably the excuse those pungent travellers have for being careful with water & washing generally.

Darting upstairs in desperation didn't alleviate my discomfort since 'hot air' rises & the smell was twice as bad up there. The driver was totally unconcerned - he has sole charge of his own little window - lucky devil. "And why should I complain", he enquired, "you have a travel pass. Be satisfied with little things & stop annoying me with your petty gripes - I'm doing my best to drive this monster of a coach through these massive road works without physically injuring any of the passengers. Stay in your seat till I come to a halt".

I did! :-D

Dermot - it was probably more pithe than that! :-D

LadyScozz - hope your rash clears up soon & that the cream 'sinks in' to the skin. Sometimes the cure is worse than the complaint

oooooer, Dermot, sorry about that.......... do your soldiers have an armpit rash?

It's quite humid here, it would be easy to get stinky, but I shower at least twice (often 4!) times a day.

It's been a warm day, with half an hour of rain at about 7.30pm, which made it even more humid.

I'm scared to take too deep a breath, in case I drown!

Ni fear of getting overheated here at the moment (unless on one of Dermot's buses) Our buses always seem to be freezing as the windows are all open.

Why didn't you get RR'd for using the word "follicles"?
