Thanks for advice.
Candido Lahuerta DOB 1885 married Refugio Garcia DOB 1888 in 1913. He was a barber from 1914 in El Paso, Texas and his son Jose DOB 1912 was also a barber working in his father's shop. Candido died 28/12/35 and Jose is recorded as still living in El Paso up until 1943 and still working as a barber.
After that I can find no trace of either Refugio or Jose.

Thanks to Ancestry I discovered that one of my rellie's who went to the USA was a business partner of Pat Garett. It has any amount of stuff on the USA from the Mayflower to recent. So take up +++DetEcTive+++ 's suggestion and ask yr question. You'll get an answer for sure.

Back in the day GR intended to open up in the USA and even had a pilot site on line. Didn't pan out.

You can also try roots web - sometimes you get an answer quickly, sometimes it takes years.

Its possible that a local historical society might have a facebook page.
Googling *El Paso, Texas historical society* brings up quite a few sites which could be relevant.
Although they may appear to be focussing on historical events, local groups often have access to records not yet on line, family bibles, submitted family research etc.

Does anyone know of any sites like Genes Reunited in America. I have traced family to El Paso, Texas as far as 1940 census but then the thread dies.
Any help greatly appreciated.
