:-D :-D :-D

I had to look up 'Tambourer' :-D

My mum was convinced one of our ancestors was Belgian.
On her marriage certificate, her name looks like Mary Boulet Evans.
It's not. It's Mary DOUTCH Evans :-S

Further research showed she was the illegitimate daughter of Mrs Evans (widow) with 2 children, and Samuel Doutch (lodger) :-D :-D

He was a right Douchebag too - he took Mrs Evans from Gloucester (where she was a confectioner) to Southampton - and then left her shortly after the baby was born :-|

hahaha

Someone told me that her ancester was a jam coverer.

A what????

Terrible scribble, but it was (to me) obviously "tambourer"

She thought the woman's job was putting lids on pots of jam :-D
