I have been working on a Latvian family for months and months.

I have name changes and date of birth adjusted so she could get out of German, British run camps via the Red Cross.

The above suggestions are great and I wish you luck.

Depending on when they came to the UK, they may have become Naturlaised British Citizens

How to look for records of... Naturalised Britons - National Archive

If they changed their name officially, or declared their wish to be 'known as' you might find a declaration on the London Gazette - just search on line for the earliest name you know + London Gazette.

Have you found them on any census, or did they come over after 1911? Sometimes a census will state exactly where they originated.

Cyndis' List a portal for Genealogy sites - you might find something helpful for Poland and Lithuania. Do remember that boundaries have changed since they were born.

Familysearch has a few collections of records from Poland, mainly RC church ones

If the family was originally Jewish, they may be listed in Jewish Gen. There are other Jewish Genealogy sites.

have you checked on the family search site??

https://familysearch.org/search/

keep to the documented records.

This is the Mormon site, and submitted records are too often manipulated to what the submitter wants to believe had happened.

Otherwise, some of us might be able to help ................

where have you looked

when did your grandparents arrive in the UK? Was it early enough that we could find them on the last census that is available online (the 1911) or in the 1939 Register?

If they are dead, post their names and let us see if we can help

I have info as to my grandparents details but cannot go further back as they came from Lithuania or Poland and unsure whether a surname change took place when they arrived in the UK.

Any suggestions would be appreciated.
