Not wishing to be flippant, but it's a wise child that knows it's own father!!!

I'd not heard of it either, but did wonder about the possibility after learning that a litter of kittens could have several fathers. :-)

None of us can be truly sure of our ancestry can we. The evidence of the paper records we pursue so diligently can be flawed too.

I have heard of bi paternal twins before.

There doesn't seem to be any historical evidence of twins in my family

(26 yrs ago, I had a twin pregnancy but I miscarried one of them)

Both my sisters now have twin grandchildren. A set each from their eldest daughters (a 3rd set from a son.. which is not relevant)

It now means that my 3 girls are all at a high risk of producing twins or multiples.
My eldest is getting married next Saturday and... would love to start a family.!

Yikes :-S :-S :-S :-S

There are a lot of twins in my family and one set of triplets but this is not about my family.

Sixty years ago my Mum told me that twins I knew, born to one of my mother's friends who had had an affair, had different fathers. One of the twins was the image of the siblings but the other was much bigger and had different hair, eye and skin colouring - in fact, the image of the other man (whom I also knew).

I must add, I rather liked the whole family but not the other man whom I found to be creepy.

We are all accidents of birth. It can sometimes take three parents to produce a healthy baby.

I saw a mention in a text book years and years ago that it was a possibility ...... very unusual but possible.

It means a woman had two "lovers", AND also produced two eggs ......... and obviously there was a "race" for which sperm reached an egg. It could be she had a delayed release of the second egg.
