Can anyone advise me. I have discovered that one of my relations has married someone who is already part of my own tree. The situation that exists is that I have to type information on both these people and this creates a greater number of people in my tree, but in fact they are being duplicated. How can I remedy this problem so that the two families can be linked without duplication?

When you go to add the spouse, it should offer you the option to select an existing relative. Look at the 2 tabs in the box which opens. One says New Person, the other says Existing person ( or words to that effect)

It's possible that their names will be duplicated but with a (2) after the name. It shouldnt effect any children they subsequently have.
