linking two family members from the same tree

Can anyone advise me. I have discovered that one of my relations has married someone who is already part of my own tree. The situation that exists is that I have to type information on both these people and this creates a greater number of people in my tree, but in fact they are being duplicated. How can I remedy this problem so that the two families can be linked without duplication? |

When you go to add the spouse, it should offer you the option to select an existing relative. Look at the 2 tabs in the box which opens. One says New Person, the other says Existing person ( or words to that effect) |
