Now I adore Maggie Smith along with Julie Walters and Judi Dench. I watched this film tonight and I have to say I was disappointed.

Alan Bennett I enjoy his writing etc. but something tonight did not jell - perhaps it is moi.

Read the book.

I don't like seeing film adaptations of books.

As I wouldn't want to drink the beer that had been through somebody's kidney, so I do not wish to see the idea that hes been through somebody elses imagination.

The book is brilliant.

I heard Alan Bennett read the book himself on radio and I have seen it as a stage play. I thought both were brilliant. I haven't seen the film but I can imagine Maggie Smith in the role.

I thought it was brilliant :-D

I've read the book, heard Alan Bennett read it, and enjoyed the film.

But then, I just love Alan Bennett!!

It must be me - will have to try it again. Maggie I love Mr. Bennett's work and have often wondered how he manages to read a woman's mind.

No, Chris, not you!!
People like different things!
I can't stand Jane Austen books - just don't like her way of writing.
