Thank You Mersey for expressing yourself so well!<3 <3 <3 <3

That is exactly how I feel.

Because of circumstances in my life at the moment, I am not here as much as I used to be, but I value your friendship, and the friendships of all the wonderful people<3 I have "met" here.

I have not yet met any of you in person, but it's amazing how I feel as if I know so many of you so well!

I thank you all ,and GR for bringing us all together, like a family <3 <3 <3

Every thread and post from each person makes the boards and it's always great to see positives......great for those who are thinking of wanting to join in ,with no matter what thread they post on.....

I always think there are people who are far worse off than you in all different
Aspects and it's just so lovely to see the plus side of things ........health,life,family and friendship it's lovely to share or confide when needed

A nice thread Mersey

I have made friends on here over the last eleven years I have been a member.
I have met other members .when my husband was alive we spent a holiday in Cornwall with my daughter and s.i.l as Oh was on oxygen and on a mobility scooter, but I timed it to a lovely GR meet in Bodmin Gaol.dont think the ones I met are still members, but it was a lovely friendly occasion and we had a tour of the old gaol which was interesting for me as I had a convict on the first fleet to Oz who had been in there.

I then organised a meet in North Wales and met Puss,Hayley,May Empress of Spring and her husband and others and that was lovely in the local golf club.

Unfortunately I was then housebound for over three years with caring for my husband and didn't go anywhere, but the boards were a great comfort to me as I battled with all the problems I had at that time, including the death of my DIL and the illnesses of my baby great granddaughters.I think sometimes you need friends that you can talk to ,as with ones you see you have to keep up a smiley face
.
Anyway I have enjoyed my time and met lovely people on here.you get the odd one who makes waves, but my view is that you just ignore and don't let them spoil our lives.
Thanks again Mersey...I never threaten to leave and value my GRFriends.

There was a cartoon in a national newspaper which depicted a woman talking to a priest at the funeral of her beloved husband in a Church where a couple of hundred chairs were provided for the service but only a handful of mourners attended.

“It’s strange,” she confided. “I expected a bigger turnout – he had hundreds of friends on his Facebook page.”

Mersey, what a lovely posting. You have written what many of us think, yet rarely put into words. GR is like a family. We don't always agree, but we are usually caring and supportive towards one another, when it is needed. Thank you xx

true Mersey - so very true

I feel I have lots of friends on here, some I've had the pleasure of meeting and some I've never met - like you - but I have an affinity with those I haven't met

It's a great place to find help and sympathy if needed and thankfully there hasn't been any unpleasantness that I've seen this year

Mersey you have a way with words that so many of us wish we had. that is so beautifully put and I can vouch for the support I have had from yourself and from others on here in recent years. I have made many friends on Genes, some who no longer come on here and sadly some who are no longer with us and some, of course who are still on here. Some I have met, some I have not. I value each and every one. Thank you for this thread. <3 <3 <3 <3 <3 <3

What beautiful words Mersey and although we don't "chat" often it is a great pleasure to count you as an online friend <3

I also have received help and support on here from people that I have never met and from one that I have.
