It's Kindle e-readers that need the update. I have an old Kindle Fire which is still working perfectly. |

If your kindle doesn't automatically update, then it would have needed the update by 22 March. I think it applies to Kindles bought before 2014. You should have had a couple of emails about two weeks before the date advising you which needed updating and how to do it. Currys will be able to tell you though. |

Once again, many thanks for your replies. Have tried all suggestions with no luck. I did see the message from Amazon about updating the day after closure. I think it also mentioned that Kindle Fire would not be affected. |

somehow or other you have activated accessability mode, there is prob nothing wrong with yr Kindle. Go into settings and turn acces.mode off. The yellow box will disappear. |

I don't have a Kindle but I understand that all older ones need to be updated. This link will tell you more. |

I think my Kindle has died on me. Can open it but it seems stuck. When I finally open a book I can't move the pages and have to tap it hard to get back to anything. |
