No not the trees alive with bird song but ........ The dulcet (not) tones of Herbert a deaf neighbour who thinks everybody on the community is also deaf, :-0 , children screeching in the pool, maybe because the water is cold and the yippy yaps of my grumpy pooch because there are a lot of people wandering around.
Should have bought a finca in the campo :-D :-D :-D :-D.

Winter may be cold but it is peaceful :-P

Det lawn mowers what is a lawn ? We don´t do grass here I will have you know just parched bits of scrub :-D unless you can afford the water in a watering system that is. :-0

AnninGlos, No footballs yet as they are not out until July. Then mayhem reigns every weekend. :-| I think this year I might have to put spikes in the wall he he ha ha :-D. Mind I also need to cut down Herberts view of the hot tub :-0

When my mum lived in Portugal, Summer was introduced by the sounds of drug addicts up in wood of fir trees on the nearby hill, followed by the sound of fire engines putting out the fires started in the wood :-D

A drug addiction unit was then built a couple of miles away. I've often wondered if this was for 'easy access'!!

:-D Maggie. It´s strange the sounds which you link with things, This willl only be my 3rd summer in this house but I already link things to times of year. At least the noise is not as bad as the campsite in summer ;-) athough Herbert does try at times.

I used to love to go to sleep listening to the sound of the cicadas.

In the same way in the house where I was born, I loved going to sleep to the sound of the hum of the traffic.

We can get used to most things, don't you think? :-)

I learnt to live with the cicadas noisy creatures, but now I don´t really notice them. Yes I think after awhile you get used to things that happen daily.

Love the sound of cicadas. None here in Dorset but we did have sun today, albeit with a strong wind.
