After the assessor had finished looking at our car, he took photos of it from every conceivable angle, both inside and out.

When OH asked him why, he said that a few weeks ago he had assessed the damage on a car and had declared it a write-off. After the scrapper had collected it he rang the assessor to ask why he hadn't mentioned that all the air-bags were blown.

The assessor said they weren't and rang the owner to ask what had happened.

The owner said that as the car was being scrapped anyway, he had driven it into a wall to check whether the airbags worked!! :-| :-|

I wonder sometimes at the mentality of some people!

...and if the airbags hadn't worked.... he wouldn't have needed another car

I wonder what he would do if he was scrapping a motorcycle helmet, or maybe a cricket box! :-D :-D

The owner must have been the amadán that lives in our road. And his near neighbour is definitely a gomerel. :-P

many parts on scrap cars can fetch a tidy sum............
its possible to obtain the complete ecu set from a Donor car including the keys, immobiliser, etc and fit them to a different car, thus bringing it to life,

maybe the final owner didn't want anyone to make any money from his written off motor.......once the airbags have fired, its generally a write-off anyway......
