My gt aunt ran a succesful shop and suffered from it,when we were small and asked for 6d sweets she used to wobble her head and have shakey hands and on very rare occasions the sweets went over weight and she took them back out again.....dead on the 2oz and no more,,,,,,,,, :-D :-D.

Sues thats one to your advantage then,,,,,,mind you dont need a shakey head for folks to be scared........just a look...... ;-) :-D

I haven't been to one in ages, now there are 2 family events this summer.

My grandmother used to have a nodding head. I think I vaguely wondered about it, but was used to it and I dont think she spilled her cuppa or food. I think it was just the head that nodded. Interesting to 'hear' you talking about your tremor. I am 80 now and I dont think I have it - as yet.

Hi Brenda, you are right in some cases it can be hereditary but couldn't find any possible cases in my family. The one fact the neurologist noted was eldest daughter and her MS.

I am allowed to make hot drinks but not carry them in from kitchen, hubby isn't that brave.lol

Painting my nails would be a hit if I put the video on YouTube ;-)

The only huge inconvenience is trying to use the track pad on my laptop. I think I have the arrow in the right place, tap it and it shoots off somewhere surprising. I will use more of the voice controls when it finally drives me nuts!

But hey look on the bright side, my muscles are getting more of a workout :-D

I have an 87yr old friend in Oz who has the tremor.He recently had a pacemaker fitted and the meds for his tremor upset that a bit,so he has come to terms with a lot more shakes,but we laugh about it..I think it can be hereditary...am I right?

I also knew a lady who lived here till last year and she had the tremor,but she rode a bike until she was about 80.,but she found it hard to drink a cup of tea without spilling.

I'm sure you will cope with it,Sue,to laugh will get you through as to be embarassed would make it worse and you would tense up.if people don't like how you are....tough.

Hello Foggy, how lovely to 'see you'. The neurologist has recommended two meds but I am delaying taking them until I have to. I rattle enough now. I am pleased you are doing well. <3

Hello Sue, long time no speak.
I'm sure the docs should be able to prescribe something for your tremor that will ease it.
For just over 18 months I have been taking co-beneldopa for my Parkinson's and it has reduced the tremors quite significantly, so keep up you wonderful sense of humour and all will be fine :-)

We are going to a wedding in London in a few weeks, had a hilarious conversation with the bride (my best friend) because it's a buffet afterwards.

Just how impressive will I be balancing the plate on my head whilst staggering with 2 crutches back to my seat?

Oh and tell the celebrant not to look in my direction when they ask if anyone knows of any impediment....lmao.

Lol Sue, where would we be without your humour. Like the 'please speak clearly I am hard of hearing' badges you will have to wear one that says 'Just because I nod my head I am not agreeing with you'.

Not sure what effect it would have though as when I wore the hearing badge I got shouted at so I stopped wearing it Lol!!

Now if we meet and you are nodding but not agreeing and I am nodding but not really hearing, where does that leave the conversation?

Seriously, it is so good that it is not Parkinsons or MS (although I am sure you would have dealt with that in your fashion too). And like others on here I admire you for how you deal with what must be a frustrating situation. :-) <3 <3 <3
