Daffodils here are always put into metal buckets, whether it is in stores or independent flower shops. |

I queried in Lidl why Daffs were kept in dry buckets and apparently it's on instruction from the growers. When cut they seal over so stay fresher and in bud till taken home to a vase of water, when they will open 0. |

Asda's daffodils are quite often displayed on their own at the end of the check-outs or in the entrance lobby! |

Sadly some customers mistook them for edibles! Stores had to make sure they were only displayed with the other flowers and not at the end of random aisles or in entrance paths..... |

It's probably because daffodils are toxic if eaten (by humans or animals), so health and safety probably insist on the warning. |

bought some in Asda today and was surprised to see there were instructions attached!!! place in water and do not eat!!! |
