That doesn't excuse him, though, does it? They aren't particularly likable people but they don't deserve what's happened to them or the abuse hurled at them by the ignorant trolls.

As for the disgraced cop - read that Guardian article again. Not someone to admire or feel sympathy for.

Mind he has never neglected his children

As far as we know ;-)

My heart bleeds for maddie and maddie only!!! that poor little girl who cried for her parents, but was left again the next night. Alone in a room with 2 babies in a foreign country. The McCanns deserve everything they get! There is only 2 people responsible for maddie disappearing, and that is her parents, there actions alone are the reason she is "missing".

LaGooner Report 21 Apr 2016 20:55

Hear , hear stray. They should be charged with child neglect

StrayKitten

StrayKitten Report 21 Apr 2016 21:09

Id personally charge them with more than that,

my heart is with maddie, i pray one day she will be found,
And that someone heard her crys and took her to love her,

Guinevere Report 21 Apr 2016 21:12

Maybe they should be but in that case there are a lot more parents whose children are abducted, disappear or die in accidents who should also be charged with neglect. Our law tends to be merciful in such cases.

They don't have Madeleine what worse punishment could there be for their neglect?

The irrational hatred shown towards the McCanns is disturbing. Other negligent parents seem to find sympathy. I don't understand why.

As I said before it couldn't have happened to my child, I would never have left him. But he wouldn't have drowned in a garden pond or disappeared when I was out shopping.

I feel sorry for all parents whose children go missing, die or disappear.

And how many of those Parents
have had 13 million thrown at them by this Government :-( :-(

StrayKitten Report 21 Apr 2016 21:32

So do i, if its no fault of there own, iv friends who have lost children in tragic circumstances, but i could never ever support a parent who left there child to go for a drink with there friends in a bar leaving them alone in a room.

i have abslutly no empathy for there pain, i feel sick at the thought of what could have happened to maddie, there is many different reasons she could be gone, each n everyone makes my blood run cold, n each n everytime there is only 2 people to blame.

If they had wanted a adult only holiday they shld have found a suitable person to mind the kids at home, id maybe have a bit of sympathy if they had used the babysitting service, but no they didn , they choose to leave them 3 babies ALONE! There to blame end off! N any pain they feel they whole heartidly in my opinon deserve, they choose to have children they then choose to put there own enjoyment before the safety of there children. And for some reason there protected, but why did no one protect maddie??

Young children should never ever be left unsupervised anywhere especially in a hotel complex for example where you never know who is lurking waiting for an opportunity to pounce.

I'm always amazed that anybody would think the McCann couple were involved in the disappearance of Madeleine.

They paid a heavy price for leaving their children unattended. Like bob says, many like my own parents did the same at Butlins in the 60's, I remember being left myself.

I've certainly never thought for one moment that they were guilty beyond leaving them unattended. Cannot those that wish to heap blame upon them not stop to think how much they have already suffered, and if they are not guilty how traumatic it must feel to be blamed when innocent? I've said it before; having one's own child die suddenly I know how it feels, one certainly doesn't need others saying one has murdered one's own. Were they to have committed suicide through their grief, there would be many who should feel deeply ashamed.

Lavender
if i read her book and Kate said just once
She was sorry for leaving them home alone
I maybe could forgive their actions of neglect Just maybe

But Please read the book not once does she or Gerry take responsibility
for their actions everything is always somebody else's fault

This book is glorify Kate and Gerry
Not in anyway we should of looked after our children better :-( :-(
