fine thank you Linda - I seem to be intact - insurers solicitors will be ringing me in a few days time to see if I have any problems - whiplash etc.

I shall be having a look at those dashcams!!!

Sharron

Sharron Report 10 May 2016 16:16

I was hit on a corner on fourteen foot wide road by a car coming toward me, driven by a mechanic with two more in the back.

He got out and said I was in the middle of the road, he was on skid, he said, and that proved I was in the middle of the road.

The police measured and found he had actually left me three feet of road by a ditch, nowhere to go.

Anyway, it was all sorted out but the man I felt sorry for was the owner of the other car. He had taken it in to the garage because it had a bit of a squeak at the back.

Hi Ann,,,I also found Saga insurance good...glad you are getting sorted and not feeling too bad.
After BrianW told me about the dash Cam I believe they have them at B&M stores for £15.-A lady I spoke to this morning said they are good so will have a look and probably get one..
We have to call them challenges and not problems...haha...I broke the handle on my toilet yesterday,so I have been doing a minor plumbing job today and fitting a new part for £1 .60 instead of calling plumber ...think it's working.....lol..... <3 :-S

Hope that you aren't too achy after yesterday's episode. It will have shaken you up, so pamper yourself for a couple of days. That was a nice surprise to be offered a courtesy car. I hope that your own car will be mended and back with you soon.
Hopefully, your insurance company will work in your favour too. What a scumbag!!!

insurers were very helpful this morning - Saga - didn't realise I'd get a courtesy car!! my car being collected for repair next Wednesday - talking to the police I got the impression they were more sympathetic towards the little **** than they were to me

Now I know what road rage feels like!!!

Hell's bells! Firstly I am glad you are not injured. I know it's always said cars can be replaced but people can't and that's true. However, it's the injustice of it all that gets to you and that's natural. Leave it to your insurers to fight it out once you have completed the incident form.

Love from him and me xx

SuffolkVera Report 10 May 2016 11:22

Glad you weren't injured Ann and I hope you aren't feeling too shaky today. It's bound to have been a shock so give yourself a couple of easy days to get over it.

We had a similar thing some years ago involving three cars. The one that caused the accident was undamaged though our car and another one were. Needless to say the faulty driver drove away at a rate of knots but we were able to give the police the make and model of the car and the number plate. They found him within a couple of hours but he denied all knowledge of the accident so it was his word against ours and the police could take no action. This happened on the very busy A12 and as no-one stopped to help we had no independent witnesses. Hopefully the police will be able to do a bit more in your case.

Good to hear that you are okay Ann......you may get a touch of delayed shock today though which is perfectly understandable. You were certainly on the ball to react as you did....well done you. :-D

this happened to my son and it turned out the lad driving the car was not the owner and was not insured , but when the police went the owner said it was him driving and he fabricated some witnesses that said my son was on the wrong side of the road..you could see by the skid marks he wasn't but they got away with it...

BrendafromWales

BrendafromWales Report 9 May 2016 22:28

Thank you BrianW .think it will be a wise buy.
I sometimes think that people can deny things they do...a sign of the times methinks....and it could record the proof we need.

Hope you can sleep tonight Ann .xx

What an awful experience AnnC. Quick thinking on your part to take the car registration number and get the police involved so quickly. What a low life he
is. I hope he gets the book thrown at him and you are looked after. Glad that
you weren't injured, although it must have been an shock. Take it easy now. xx

AnnCardiff

AnnCardiff Report 9 May 2016 21:23

well the police have caught up with him and he has of course given a completely different story and said he left the scene because I intimidated him!!! utter crap!!
he is insured with Admiral and the police said the insurance companies will have to fight it out - when I said that surely leaving the scene was a criminal offence they replied that they weren't there so couldn't comment

Brenda,
Dash cams simply stick to the windscreen (or sometimes dashboard) with a sucker and plug into the fag lighter.
No technical expertise required whatsoever.
