A big dollop of that cheap margarine that comes in a big tub from the cash and carry, a girt shake of that artificial sweetener that Aldi do that is like Splenda only much cheaper. You can always use sugar if you want to.

Knock it about quite a lot in the mixer, put in an egg and a slug of vanilla essence.

Chuck some self raising flour in until it looks about the right consistency. If it gets a bit dry chuck a drop of milk in.

Tip a load of raisins or currants or anything you like really into it.

Give it to OH who knows best and he puts it in tin and makes a big show of baking it.

Though I says it meself as shouldn't, this fruit cake I knocked up yesterday is a bit good.
