Is anyone else finding that Firefox is doing continual updates? All the time I am trying to add to either Genes or facebook my typing is constantly interrupted and ends up gibberish. When I check task management I find Firefox is constantly updating. |

They are background updates as far as i can tell. when I look at task manager most of it is completely still but firefox is showing figures going up to 30. Sometimes explorer is running too but I only use Firefox. It has been particularly bad the past 3 days. |

Try going into help (on firefox) then at the bottom it should say, about firefox, it might give you the option to do a manual update. |

You can control how and when Firefox applies its updates as follows. |

Thank you IGP, that was what I was looking for. I have done that with the options for updates. I did wonder if it was having facebook and Genes and Gmail all open was what causes the action. However, yesterday I gradually shut them down and the action didn't change. I am wondering if something running in the background is the problem. But I can't find out anything that is running. And, believe me we have searched. |

Glad you posted that Rollo. Although I/we haven't delved too deeply into the reason, we've been finding that 'something' has been grabbing the memory. |
