If I wanted to go there I would not start from here.
As Dermot will tell you there are better bets.

It would just be nice to enjoy the exhilaration of having one Tree to call my own .. thank you all for your help - I have sent an email to the Support Team .. oh the joys of genealogy .. Life is Good and then you become an Ancestor

Do be aware that you can have only one tree per Genes account. If you upload a second, it over-writes the first. (Been there, done that :-| :-0)

Several people have reported problems when exporting Gedcoms from G R. It may be that the same problem affects importing.

I should contact support. [email protected]

Thank you - in the Help Centre FAQs it mentions "To load your file onto the site, click on the Family Tree button at the top of your homepage, then select Import Gedcom from the drop-down menu. This will take you to the import gedcom page" - the program does not do this - it continually tells me that it is importing the .ged file but has not asked me where or which .ged file I want uploaded.

Cheers

Well it will create its own tree in the genes format and add the info that you upload

You can't put a tree on genes in the format from any other tree program

Genes has its own program

Hi .. I have just signed up to Genes Reunited and am wanting to upload my existing .gedcom file. The system seems to want to create a new Tree for me and will not give me the option of uploading my own. It seems to go into a cycle - when I delete the tree it is trying to create for me it goes through a "deletion pending" process and then commences to create another tree template with only my details without asking for a source file to upload. Any thoughts/ideas or help would be much appreciated.

Cheers
