Fly - my rabbit looks pretty much the same as yours. I don't think I'll make another - just stick to owls and hedgehogs :-D :-D - I could have made 3 hedgehogs in the time it took to make that fiddly little thing :-0

Let me know how you get on if you make the large rabbit :-D ;-)

After a wet morning, it seems to be clearing up a bit!

Well I've had a BusyBee week getting ready for Grandson 1's week's stay. Only to find out he is going back today as G and the Baby have decided to come home from their Tenby holiday early! :-0 :-D

He's not too pleased, cos he wanted to catch up on his sleep :-D and also he and his Granddad were going to give the house a good clean before she came home.

Have a good day Everyone <3 <3 <3

Dermot Report 28 Jul 2016 12:55

It's Thursday already, as if that comes as a surprise. Yesterday was Wednesday - was it not?

For many years, I had to attend staff briefings at work, always on a Thursday for some unforgotten reason. The urge to hold and attend meetings is hard-wired into our nature. Meetings provide an outlet for the need to escape from serious living of hard graft to the experience of convivial pointlessness. In the UK, some argue that there are not enough meetings of substance to satisfy our national needs. The exercise of our right to vote is crucial in selecting those who are in the greatest need of meetings.

I have little patience with the cry to abolish the House of Lords. The abolitionists seemed unaware of the point and purpose of this upper class meeting place in the lives of its members. Do we wish for the unedifying spectacle of those who crave for meetings camping out in Downing Street pleading for re-admission. Besides, sending them to Brussels is a far more expensive alternative. In any case, Brexit means they are no longer welcome there. Tough!

I am aware that there are some who do not wish to see our second chamber becoming a meaningless talking shop, losing sight of what they see as its essential custodial function.

Attendance at meetings or other obscure gatherings is essential for healthy living, while over-attendance leads to 'Meeting Malady' (MM). Its most worrying symptom is the longing for linguistic barbarism; sufferers develop an urge to generate unnecessary additions to our current stock of well respected & overused words.

Nouns are mindlessly converted into verbs; we are invited to action proposals, to task somebody, to diarise and prioritise. In the more advanced stages of the illness, verbs are turned into nouns; we are informed that an onerous request is a big ask.

I suspect some of the upper chamber have over-met and are doing penance in the relaxed atmosphere of the comfortable Members’ Commons bar.

Good luck to them!

Wow! Mersey how did you know?:-S. You must be psychic - busy bee Thursday. Just put 4 th lot of washing out today. 3 lot's dry and the cotton sheets won't take long.

I'm off upstairs to clean out our bedroom before I do the ironing :-(. The basket is groaning. It's lovely having friends arriving and wanting to see us (not staying here) but at least 2 outfits a day for both of us + towels and bedding soon mounts up.

Out every evening until Sunday now. :-D

See your weather has cooled, here it's 36C with 66% humidity. Last rain here in May.

Enjoy your Thursday, I will in about 4 hours when I go out ;-)

:-D :-D :-D :-D <3 <3 <3 <3
