Importing Gedcom of Family Tree

Have checked this out and there were 1836 entries in the gedcom transfered from Ancestry and 2135 in the GR tree. The additional are all Unknowns and they appear to be for people who are still on the named list, but the Unknowns are appearing in the tree, and I cannot get past my wifes parents who are shown as Unknowns.

I should add that two months ago I transfered a gedcom for another tree to GR and this resulted in the same number of entries on GR with the only Unknowns showing were those already on the tree.

Would the answer be to export it from GR and then import it back??

I have exported my Ancestry tree as a gedcom and imported it into GR, then exported it from GR and imported it back into Ancestry.

I started with 3378 and ended with 3378 entries, however in the GR tree there are 3440 with the difference being made up by Unknowns.

It seems that most (if not all) of the Unknowns are partners of people who did not have a partner specified in the original tree. I haven't found any Unknowns who appear in the list other than as unknown.

Have now logged in manually and it works OK. Thanks! Problem now is the imported tree has around three hundred more people in it and these are all named as "unknown"
Even my wife's ancestors, mother and father etc, are shown as "unknown" in tree, but are still in the listed people!! Is this a common problem and will "support" take months to sort it out.

I have now imported another family tree on a second account using a different email address, but when I log-in it automatically goes to my original account. Any ideas how to get to the second account would be appreciated

I kicked off an import at 11:20 this morning and it is stuck too. Processing even for a larger tree of say 20,000 names should take less than ten minutes from start to finish.

The most likely reason is because the Gedcom processor at GR isn't running for some reason. It used to happen fairly regularly whenever they had done site maintenance and the need to switch it back can get overlooked.

I have tried importing a family tree by Gedcom and after over 20 hours it is still showing as "Being Processed" and "Importing". Any idea's?
Would appreciate any help
