Peter one of the reasons helpers post info you have is because it's the process we work through, you may have the 'timeline' as it were, we don't and because one of us may have access to something you don't :-)

For instance, the 1939 register as posted by Shirley does indeed confiirm the birth years given in your OP, but it also gives an exact birthdate ie

Jane E Lloyd 07 Dec 1886

That is very useful if ( though it doesn't seem to be the case here) when looking for a death. If the surname had been changed she might still be found by crosschecking the exact birthdate against all death records for a Jane e.

Have you found Williams death?

Hi Thanks for that. I doubt she would have re-married as she was 39 when she got married. In 1939 at the last address in Lichfield she was still with William and by then was 53.Her oldest brother Wilfred lived in South Africa, but I have all the records for there and she does not appear in them. William was 9 years her senior, so if anything he would have pre-deceased her. She was very close to her younger sister Florence who lived on Cannock Road Pye Green, so if she was widowed, one would have thought that she would have ended up there, but did not. Her youngest sister Emily did, she never married. Florence died in 1973.Peter

It's not the B'ham death just found her probate and she is Jane Elizabeth but married to Phineas Lloyd. Back to square 1. :-(

Hi Once again thank you for the responses. I have the death certificate for the Bridgenorth lady and discovered her middle name was Ellen as opposed to Elizabeth. The Birmingham one I will check. Peter

Have found 2 possible deaths, you'll need the death cert. to be sure it's her.

Her death could be in Birmingham as I come from near Lichfield and have had several relatives go to hospital in B'ham and my uncle died at a cancer unit in B'ham.

Bridgnorth isn't too far either and a place to retire to..
