Hi all,has anyone received an email from friends recently, .I had one telling me i had photos to download.not sure if its a scam.

What happened to my Friends Reunited account?

You will no longer be able to log into your FriendsReunited account. The FriendsReunited servers have been shut down.
How can I recover all the photos I uploaded on Friends Reunited?

We will provide a page to allow you to login and download your photos – you will be receiving an email regarding this over the coming months.

Thanks for the info,i know they closed down sometime ago,but only got the email the other day,only a couple of photos but might download them.

It isn't a scam.

Whilst FR itself has closed they are now giving former members the option to retrieve photos etc they had previously uploaded.

I had one too and it's not a scam

They are saying there are photos in there that you may like to upload and save before the site closes down completely

Gives the opportunity to get the access in case you haven't got any on the photos elsewhere or saved to your own PC

I never received an email at the beginning of the year advising of the closure. I hope I receive the email mentioned here because it was in friends reunited that I learned, a few years ago, of the death of Bryan from Cilfrew, and I should like to copy something of that notice.

I got an email too but I already have the pics on there elsewhere.
I also had a link via FR for their new beta site Liife, had a look bit it looks rubbish compared to FB.

It's a legit email, but ONLY for photos that you yourself posted to your account.

I wanted to delete them from that site, I didn't need to download 'cos I already have them on my computer ............ but I couldn't work out how to delete from the site!

They are trying to get you to join with Liife, their new site.



Joy ............... it is only access to photos from your account, everything else has gone.


The only thing I can suggest as to why you seemingly did not receive the several emails that came out earlier in the year is that you now have a different email account from when you originally signed up with them. Did you have a major change in your life, moved etc, so that you changed your internet provider and thus your email????

Alternately .............. emails from FR might have gone to your junk pile and been deleted.

I only got the one email Sylvia ,thats why i thought it might be a scam.will have a look later at the pics,i think i only put one on years ago. and might have the original.,but as the short term memory is getting shorter it might be something different.

I changed my email address in friends reunited and check the spam / junk folders regularly.
Earlier this year I told Steve Pankhurst that I had not received an email and he said, something like, to be patient because there were millions to be sent out.
