In my opinion, Roger Miller was very under rated. Have a listen on You Tube to him singing 'Green, Green Grass of Home'.

I know you shouldn't hold it against him but he wrote ' Swiss Maid' and 'Please Release Me'.

Sorry, tried to edit last post but ended up deleting it. I asked if Bobby was male or female bur as Sharron said the original was by Janis Joplin and had lyrics such as

"One day up near Salinas, Lord, I let him slip away,"

Not heard Roger Miller's version bur Bob Weir of the Dead sang a pretty good one complemented by Garcia's guitar licks in between the verses.

It depends who is singing it.

It was written for Janis Joplin but nobody can touch Roger Miller singing it.

If you waste your time talking to the people who don't care about the things that you are saying, who do you think is going to hear?

How strange is that, I just flicked through the channels and stopped at a programme about Johny Cash, and he's singing "Sunday morning coming down".

I didn't know about that.

I was just reading this Sharron, interesting because I was thinking of going for the test myself ( not for memory loss though) .

I waited 37 years to see him

He can barely play two chords, couldn't carry a tune in a bucket and he was pure magic!
