slide rules are not very accurate inc my ancient Thornton
log tables have errors inc Godfrey & Siddons

as it happens a graphics function such as the above can easily be solved using many pocket scientific calculators

but that is not really my question who is interested in math?
well over half of the maths and enigneering courses at British unis have foreign students
