.....I have to announce the apparent demise of the Announcements' Board :-(

It is one year ago today since GR has put a message on there, not even anything about the Book Club!

Sic Transit Gloria Mundi!

:-D :-D :-D

Another sign that we've been abandoned.

I'd had a 2 month argument with Support trying to get them to unpin (not delete!) book club announcements on the hobbies board. In the end I had to spell it out - there's not much point having an offer which closed in June 2015! Just goes to show they never read them.

Suggestions is another one they don't visit. Why long time members still post on there is anyone's guess.

What is sad is that if they could just be up front and honest and explain that these boards are no longer active we would respect their honesty and it would save wasting our time.

Det, I wondered who managed to get those threads taken off. :-D

The initial argument was that the pinned threads were still being read. That implies they looked at the 'traffic' rather than the content.
What happened to common sense?

Most of us have an element of OCD - abandoned or redundant info threads is one of mine ;-)

When I emailed support last week....
My email was short.
I asked one direct question.
I also suggested that they use their own board to make announcements . ( i was referring the current technical issues re Gedcoms).

I received a detailed response about the" technical issue" but they neither answered my question nor did they make any reference to my boards suggestion.

Evasion tactic!
