Hello Everyone.

Sorry but I forgot to add The Celebration Service Of Mums Life.

We knew what Mums favourite Hymns and songs were so Mums order of services was the following, 2 grandsons and 2 great grandsons carried Mum shoulder high to the entrance song of “When I Get Where I’m Going There Will Only Be Happy Tears” by Brad Paisley and Dolly Parton.

Welcome and Introduction by the Vicar. Hymn “ Abide with me; fast falls the eventide “ Reading By Vicar, Hymn “The Lord’s my Shepherd, I’ll not want” then the Tribute read by the Vicar telling everyone of Mums life story followed with the Hymn “Amazing grace, how sweet the sound” then a blessing and The Lord’s Prayer.

I put a poem together and read thinking of my great nephews and nieces and what Mum would have said to try and comfort them, so here it is.

I’d like the memory of me to be a happy one, remembering all the family gatherings with Welsh cakes and trifle teas. I’d like to leave an afterglow of smiles we once shared. I’d like to leave an echo, whispering softly round the fields and meadows, of happy times and laughing times and bright summer days.

After the clouds we have sunshine, after the winter we have spring, after the showers, the rainbow, for life looking down on thee. After the night , morning bidding darkness to end, after life’s cares and sorrows, the comfort and sweetness of peace.

BUT now it’s time for me to leave BUT I won’t say goodbye, just look for me high up in the sky, in brightly shining stars and rainbows that is where I will be. Release me now and let me go, NO tears, be happy that I am free from pain and sleeping in perfect peace.

Then there was the Committal and then the final song “Over The Rainbow “by Eva Cassidy as we were leaving. A very touching service of Celebration for a very special Lady.

Shaun has lost his dear Mum.

If any of you would like to express your sympathy, please leave him a message on THE WELSH THREAD where he is most likely to see it.....

.....Or HERE if you'd prefer.

Shaun has the most terrible health problems himself and is struggling to look after his wife who has health problems too.
I'm sure he would appreciate everyone's condolences, love and concern. :-)
