So pleased I chose a Sony Z5 instead of the Samsung.

The S7 problems are not directly to do with using LiOn batteries but rather pi ss poor software linked to its KNOX security modules and OEM nstalled bloatware This has been a Samsung problem om many models going back at least three years.

Too many bad reviews in the trade / tech press and the journos end up o n the sh i t list.

Yes, sony have had overheating with the Z series esp using video but they have fixed it.

Despite being around for over 40 years and having billions spent on research, the lithium ion technology used in these batteries has one big safety problem if they are damaged, overheated, overcharged, short circuited or just plain faulty - it catches fire.

Even the Boeing 748 Dreamliner has not been free from problems with its Li batteries.

Samsung have recalled their Galaxy Note 7 smartphone and said that battery problems were behind phones catching fire.
