Welcome to the boards Stephen

It's bad form & against the sites T&C to list living people without their permission. If you don't know the other tree holders and don't wish your name to appear in their trees, then contact them asking them to remove you. Should they fail to comply, then ask Support to remove it.

Some people don't realise that names come up in a search even if they've opted to 'hide living relatives'.

it won't work until you have at least one person in yr tree.
then just select "Family Tree" "My tree"
wait for yr tree to appear - won't take long with 1 person
now select "View other trees, trees shared with me"
and the shared tree will load automatically.
You will not be able to view records < 100 yrs old unless the tree owner has opted to allow this.
You can see more than one tree at a time just by opening another tab.

A family member tells me they have shared a tree with me. But I can't see it - where should I be looking.
I searched for myself and it shows I am in 3 trees. Then I looked at my own (as yet) empty tree and clicked a link that said something like 'see in other trees' - and, in that list, I appear in 6 trees - including the one I have been told has been shared with me.
I am puzzled.
