I was annoyed because he had piled veg that had not got reduced prices on with veg that had, knowing that in thirty minutes he was going to reduce it. In the main tesco stuff to be reduced is put on a trolley first not in the clearance area.

Sale of goods act? If they were clearly advertised as 'Reduced', then a price reduction of some sort should have been applied at the Till. Mind you, if you or some other trusting soul were busy packing bags, you/they might not have noticed that one hadnt been applied.

Or good business practice so to speak to catch the unwary...shouldn't happen though

that items you pick up to buy from 'clearance' in supermarkets have a reduced price on them? Or when is a bargain really a bargain?

At 10.23 when we were in our local Tesco Metro today (Saturday), there was a pile of veg dated 8 October in the clearance area. I was about to pick a couple up but realised they were not marked down. I asked a male assistant who was working on the veg area why they were not marked down. His reply was 'eleven o'clock'. As that told me nothing I asked him again and he said they would be reduced at eleven o'clock. Needless to say I didn't buy any veg at all, and pointed out to him that people would pick it up thinking it was reduced as it was in Clearance and it was over half an hour to eleven o'clock. He just shrugged. Bad practice to catch the unwary? Or bad management?
