The direct line of succession is Prince Charles, Prince William, Prince George , Princess Charlotte and Prince Harry. Any future Wales children will precede Prince Harry. Not too much hope for the Yorks! So long as they're not on the payroll, I can't see that its any ones business how they lead their lives.

Why does anyone imagine we are 'lucky' to have these hangers on? :-S

The Queen > Charles > William - fine. Stick with the direct line and ditch the side shoots.

Perhaps if Andrew and his family behaved with dignity they might get a little more respect. I suspect he is at a loss as to what to do with those seemingly unemployable girls so is trying to get them off 'Bank of Dad' and foisted onto the taxpayer.
Perhaps he could get them on a few reality/game shows - it has been done before after all.

I agree with Prince Charles in every way but I think it should have been down to the Queen to say no after all it must have been her that streamed the family down at the jubilee after all after Charles William George and now Charlotte come before the York sand if William and Kate have any more children they will come after Charlotte and the Yorks will go down one again

While I totally agree that these two Princesses should not be on the payroll, the constant vitriol about them and the Prince of Wales and his wife, is both tedious and plain nasty. Yes Sylvian I for one realise how lucky we are to have them, and that an elected head of state could well produce something/body far far worse!!

They and their parents should learn from the example of Princess Anne and her children.

Anne's children are every bit as royal as Andrew's yet they have made their way in the world very successfully without free loading off the tax payer.

SylviaInCanada Report 25 Oct 2016 01:36

why is everyone so nasty about them?

Would YOU like the things you've said about them to be said about you or your children.

and, no, I do NOT think that they should be put on the payroll .........

....... but I am getting fed up of all the nastiness in the media and by ordinary folk about them, and other members of the Royal Family.

You're darn lucky to have them .......... think if you were in the position of the Americans of possibly getting Trump as your world-wide ambassador and representative of your country for the next 4 or 8 years.

because THAT is what you would get if you abolish the Royals and replace them with an elected Head of State

There's a big difference in employing someone because of their abilities and hiring someone for their social standing and the prestige that this would bring to the employing firm :-|

Princess Beatrice is to become a business consultant after turning her back on her fourth job in five years.
The eldest daughter of Prince Andrew and his ex-wife the Duchess of York has left her post with a Manhattan investment firm to pursue her 'entrepreneurial ambitions'.
At the moment, however, her business plans appear to be on hold while she holidays in the Greek islands with friends, following a trip a few weeks ago to the South of France.
In June well-placed sources said the Queen's grand-daughter had been 'let go' from her role in New York. This was strongly denied by aides who maintained she was only in Britain for the month of June because of a 'work project' and to support the Queen during her 90th birthday celebrations.

and.......

Princess Eugenie of York has admitted that people might be surprised to learn that she has a full-time job, despite being eighth in line to succeed Queen Elizabeth II.

The 26-year-old said that Hauser & Wirth, the art gallery where she works as an associate director, “is very accommodating and understanding” of her “sense of duty.”

I am trying not to choke!
