Anyone having trouble finding anything in 'Search' on the above site. Have tried my own name and nothing comes up.

Thanks
Phyll

There are not many modern records on Ancestry. Having said that I checked my own name and my birth is there but then I'm a senior citizen. My sister's birth who is 7 years younger is not on Ancestry.

Haven't tried it today, but it's really grabbing bandwidth/hard drive space over the last couple of days.

Have you found yourself in their data bases before now? Family 1986 birth & 2006 death had previously been listed. Do remember that it doesn't have any modern Scottish birth, deaths or marriages.

Both the 1986 birth & 2006 death are there.

I just tried my birth and nothing came up, but I had made the mistake of putting in birth town and county!

I put High Wycombe which automatically pops up with Buckinghamshire.

I messed with the search and found mine with birth place Wycombe, Gloucestershire, Shropshire, Herefordshire.

Two years later sister B is born in Wycombe, Buckinghamshire followed three years later by sister H who was born in Wycombe, Berkshire, Oxfordshire!! :-0 :-S

Can be very confusing :-)

American programmers who haven't the faintest idea where any place is in the UK!

To be honest, boundary changes have taken place over the years.

I just tried.

Both my birth and marriage came up.

Nothing came up from trees, thank goodness :-)

Sometimes, as Lyndi said, it's a case of putting in too much information!

I just put in my name with exact spelling, but without birth year, birth place or anything.
