Oh, it was definitely much brighter and larger than a "normal" moon .........

........ but not as large as those telephoto shots that the media are showing :-D

For the past two early mornings we have had bright
views of the moon and bigger in size.
In the early hours of this morning it was brighter than
before.
I am in Aberdeen.

I saw it around midnight, it was bright but looked no bigger than usual. Thanks Kense that explains it.

As the moon was closest at 11:22 UTC and fullest at 13:52 UTC, the supermoon at its best would not have been visible from the UK. If you saw it the night before it would have been virtually as good as last night.

Early morning here the moon looked intensely bright and white. It did seem much bigger then too, when compared to what we saw last night, so its closeness to us was more evident.

We finally got to see it after it was partially hiding behind clouds for ages.

I went to bed about 11:45 pm here ......... it had been raining hard most of the day and all evening.

Got into bed, turned out the light ........ and realised there was this incredible bright light shining through the skylight

The rain had stopped and there were some clearing patchrs in the clouds :-D

I got a couple of shots of the moon, but didn't try for a telephoto to bring it really close!

I'll change my avatar to show it :-)

Just a slight hint of brightness in one patch of murky, moist, cloudy sky here.
No form or shape visible.

I do hope the cloud lifts at some point in the night..............................

I am in and out like a YoYo geting pics of the moon.It is not huge here yet and sadly the clouds are coming in. The thing I notice is a bright ring around the outer edge of the moon.I think when it is supposed to be at it's best it will be too cloudy here.I am just really hoping for a gap in the clouds.

Anyone going to look at the moon this evening?

If it's not cloudy where you are, you may view the moon at it's closest point to earth for over 60 years.
